In the contemporary scenario we are wrapped up in luxury, but nature’s simple and elegant bounties are but a distant dream. SATYA – Svasthya Ayurveda treatment Yoga & Agriculture is found to accomplish this vision. Close to the lively city, but far from the maddening crowd, this sanctuary is located at Athani, near Cochin International Airport Junction. Idea behind Satya was not just the creation of an ayurvedic or wellness centre to mint money, but on a broader prospective it aims to harmonise mental and physical health, bring together a group of artists, nature lovers, fitness experts and to provide a platform for artists to perform and exhibit their talents.
Satya means “Truth and honesty”. The beauty of the word “SATYA” lies in the effect it can have on our lives. The word ‘sat’ means ‘true essence’ or ‘true nature’. It has a deeper meaning and translates into a lot more than ‘not telling lies’. A human being should lead his life in harmony with truth, which will eliminate anguish and misery. Your true thoughts, speech and actions and sensations will take you higher in life and that is the philosophy of SATYA. Only a sound mind can give you a healthy body. It is often said that “Ayurveda is the science and yoga is the practice of the science.” They are both entwined and interrelated healing sciences. SATYA offers cure and healing through the miraculous effect of the ancient art of Ayurveda Therapy, Yoga and meditation, along with the goodness of naturopathy, an unforgettable farm experience, Bamboo beauty spa for relaxing and invigorating massages, delicious and healthy organic food and magical music therapy. It’s never late to learn any art form, at Satya, unearth the joy of learning Barathanatyam, tone your body and calm your mind with kalarippayattu, burn away the fat with the weight reduction programs at the fitness centre and stay far away from diseases.
The aim of this project is to provide a holistic wellness center of superior standards, to provide a platform for the artists to showcase their talent, to give a farming experience to the new generation and to raise awareness for a cause we firmly believe in (planting more trees to save nature is our motto). We have planned space for art exhibitions, painting camps, yoga camps and a charity shop for plantation of trees. At Satya, you will find an eclectic fusion of rich ayurvedic history and modern comfort. Experience the healing power of nature, rejuvenate your body and soul, rediscover yourself and breathe in a serene, beautiful and healthy environment.
'Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.' The relevance of this quote of Hippocrates is often overlooked. Most of the people are leading an unhealthy lifestyle eating unhealthy food which is the root cause of many diseases, pains and aches. Rather than following a healthy way of life which could keep the people in the pink of health, they prefer to wait for the ailment to strike and then run to get medical help. We have an obligation towards our body, please do not overload the system with pesticide laden food and difficult to digest crappy food. Be kind to your digestive system. Paying slight attention to what you eat can go a long way in keeping you in good physical shape.
It is thought provoking why medical conditions like Cancer, diabetes, heart problems, respiratory problems, allergies, skin problems which were rare conditions some years ago have become so common now. Surely something is wrong which needs to be corrected. Even though we can do our bit to save the environment, environmental factors like pollution are out of our direct personal control, but definitely we can keep a tab on what we are eating. Nature has provided us with so many varieties of fruits and vegetables, but with excess pesticides often this healthy food is turned into slow poison which affects our internal organs over a period of time cause deadly diseases. Organic farming needs to be more widespread. At Satya, there is an organic garden and farm which houses many exotic fruit trees, vegetable plants, birds and animals. The soil is the great connector of lives; it is the healer and restorer, by which disease passes into health, age into youth and death into life. I do the farming for the passion of farming. I love to watch and nurture the growth of plants, find irresistible the pleasantness of the air about the farm, I take pleasure in living in the presence of animals, enjoy working outdoors, savoring the weather. Farmers contribute to the welfare of society in more ways than society usually acknowledges, or even knows. It’s a noble profession of hope; we need to remind ourselves that there is no life without plants and trees. Each of you can create a small organic vegetable garden in your backyard, on your terrace or balcony. Believe me, it is not as difficult as you think and the results are indeed gratifying. We have a responsibility towards our future generation, plant more trees, go green. Spending time with nature and breathing fresh air can be a great idea to rejuvenate and heal your body and mind.Authored By : DR.S.MANI
